Introducing spring into your interior
Spring season is just around the corner (finally!). A great time to open your doors and freshen up your home. Introducing spring into your home can be a great way to brighten up your living space and create a fresh, uplifting atmosphere. If you have a vacation home, embracing the seasons is also a perfect way to give just a different feel to your guests. Don't go for the same interior all year round. Big changes are not necessary, but with a few simple tricks you will give a world of difference. Here are some ideas on how to do it:
Bring in fresh greenery: Greenery and flowers are an easy way to add a touch of spring to any room. Depending on your space, you can go for colorful tulip or hyacinths in bright and cheerful colors. I recommend going for one color instead of multiple. Or just stay easygoing and check out local seasonal flowers and greenery.
Add some greenery: Houseplants are another great way to bring the outdoors in. Choose plants with bright green leaves, like ferns or spider plants, and place them in pots or hanging baskets throughout your home. Try to group them.
Swap out your decor: Replace heavy, wintery fabrics like wool and flannel with lighter, brighter fabrics like cotton and linen. Switch out dark-colored throw pillows and blankets for ones in lighter shades. I’m always a fan of natural colors who reflect nature, but again; choose according to your interior style. It’s easy to give this extra touch via blankets and pillows.
Create a centerpiece on the table: Make a centerpiece for your dining table or coffee table using seasonal items. I’m always a fan of seasonal fruit. It’s an extra for your guests and it looks really great as deco.
Use spring-scented candles or diffusers: Bring in the fresh scents of spring with candles or diffusers in scents like lavender, lemon, or jasmine. Think natural sprays and no chemical items.
Let in natural light: Open your curtains and blinds to let in as much natural light as possible. Sunlight can help boost your mood and make your space feel brighter and more cheerful.
It may seem too simple, but you will see that a few small adjustments in materials, color and textures and adding greenery and fragrance will change a lot.
By following these tips, you can easily bring the freshness and beauty of spring into your own home or holiday property.
