Have you ever thought …
Have you ever thought of renting out your own home as a vacation home? Or for some other purpose like photo location, yoga courses, retreats, … and so many other options. It seems idealistic and quite easy, but to be super honest there is a lot more involved than taking photo’s and placing your add live.
We rent out our house occasionally and I'm glad we do. Of course I would be lying if we didn't hesitate a bit before we started. “You do invite strangers into your home when you are not there” was the biggest mind block, but in the end we made the decision to find solutions to those doubts and started anyway.
It’s not only the space which counts, but it all starts what kind of host you want to be. It’s important to make a clear plan and goal for yourself, to work all your thoughts out and then put it into practice. For what purpose do you want to rent out your home? And what do you want to offer your guests, and most importantly, what kind of guests do you welcome into your home?
Consider terms like quality, exclusivity, sustainability, accessibility, and also the connections you have and create with your guests.
Which platforms are you going to use and why? Instead of just thinking about the extra money and revenue, there are multiple factors to consider first. And quite honestly, if you have these well laid out for yourself, your own fundaments, it is all much easier to shape your home for it and this extra income will come naturally.
As a creative, I have started an online learning environment where we cover all the aspects involved. Instead of "just getting started," you want to do this right. It's a lifestyle you give yourself.
You can have access to the online learning environment for a one-time investment and follow all the lessons in your own time. One year of access! You’l learn to shape your plan and goal in a workbook. You’ll get a lot of insights and lessons about interior and exterior design, photography, marketing, and much more.
If you’re curious and you want to join, you can click here and start right away!
For the moment only available in Dutch, but super soon also in English!
